IQAC Hosts FDP on AI to Enhance Teaching and Learning Skills

RSD-Gambhiraope news: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Degree College, Gambhiraopet, successfully organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) in collaboration with the Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Hyderabad, on the theme “Enhancing Teaching and Learning Skills Using AI.” The programme was conducted under the Principal Prof. V. Vijayalakshmi and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students. The keynote speakers, Srinivasa Murthy, Director of IPE, and Prof. Ramakrishna, Professor of Commerce, delivered insightful sessions highlighting the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in modern education. They demonstrated how AI-powered tools can simplify teaching methodologies, personalize learning experiences, and significantly improve student engagement. “Artificial Intelligence is not a replacement for teachers but a powerful assistant that enhances teaching effectiveness and learning outcomes,” observed Srinivasa Murthy during his address. Prof. Ramakrishna added, “Educators must adapt to technological advancements and integrate AI into their teaching practices to remain relevant in the evolving academic landscape.” Approximately 100 participants attended the webinar, making it a vibrant and interactive session. The speakers encouraged both teachers and students to embrace innovation and develop digital competencies essential for future success. In her presidential address, Principal Prof. V. Vijayalakshmi emphasized the growing importance of AI in shaping the future of education and society. She remarked, “AI has become an integral part of our daily lives and holds immense potential to transform education. In today’s competitive world, it is imperative for both students and teachers to develop awareness and proficiency in AI to achieve academic excellence and career growth.” Dr. Y. Anjaneyulu, Assistant Professor of English and IQAC Coordinator, expressed his gratitude to the Principal, keynote speakers, and IPE management for their valuable support and collaboration. “Such programmes play a crucial role in empowering educators and equipping students with the skills required for the future,” he stated. He also thanked the faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students for their active participation. The programme was attended by Dr. M. Prabhakar, Vice Principal, along with faculty members V. Vani, P. Dharmapuri, A. Manohar, Srinivas, Bhikshmayya, and other teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as a large number of students.
