RSD- District news: Collector and District Election Officer Anurag Jayanthi said that all necessary arrangements have been made to conduct the Lok Sabha election polling in the district in a peaceful atmosphere.  On 12.05.2024, District Collector and District Election Officer Anurag Jayanthi inspected the distribution centers set up in Government Junior Colleges and Zilla Parishad High Schools in Sircilla and Vemulawada and gave several suggestions to the officials.

To be vigilant during the distribution of polling materials to the polling staff in the distribution centers, to hand over the EVM machines allocated to the polling centers through randomization to the staff of the respective polling centers, to keep the reserve EVM machines and reserve polling materials with the sector officials, to ensure that the sector officials, polling staff, and the election rules and regulations.  Later, Collector and District Election Officer Anurag Jayanthi told the media that in total 547 polling centers in the 2 assembly segments of our district, for more than 4 lakh 72 thousand voters have completed all necessary arrangements to exercise their right to vote in a peaceful environment.

The Collector called upon all the voters in the district to come to the polling station and exercise their right to vote on May 13th 2024. He said that cold drinking water, tents, toilets and other facilities have been provided to the voters at each polling station. He said that necessary ramp and tricycles have been arranged at the polling center for the disabled. In view of summer, a special cooler has been arranged at each polling station, paramedical teams are available at each polling station and in addition mobile paramedical teams have also been prepared, the collector said. He said that central forces have established strong security with our police officers at the polling centers in the district and additional forces have been deployed at problematic polling centers. He said that 50% of the polling centers have been provided with webcasting facility.

In view of the summer sun, the Election Commission of India has extended the polling time till 6 pm, the polling will be held from 7 am to 6 pm in Sircilla and Vemulawada Assembly segment, and after the polling, the polling materials will be collected from the reception centers and moved to the strong rooms set up in Karimnagar SRR College. The collector expressed hope that the district would record a high polling percentage by conducting extensive awareness programs on the importance of voting so as to record a high polling percentage in the district. The Collector suggested that the vote we cast in the elections will determine our future and people should think and freely exercise their right to vote without being tempted. Later, the webcasting live sector officer arranged in the integrated district collectorate meeting hall examined the details of the GPS tracking vehicles.
