Children Writing Stories and Poems with Great Creativity : Dr. Pattipaka Mohan, NBT Southern Region Officer

RSD_Sirisilla: Children’s literature experts observed that nurturing creativity in children and explaining contemporary social developments will enhance their reading habit.

The Regullapati Lakshmi Bala Sahitya Puraskar presentation ceremony, organized every year by the Rangineni Charitable Trust, was held in Sirisilla on Saturday. A day-long seminar and award function was conducted from 10 am to 5 pm.

The inaugural session held at 11 am was presided over by Trust President Rangineni Naveen Kumar. Eminent doctor Dr. N.V. Ramana Rao, who was the chief guest, lauded the educational services being rendered by Mohan Rao and his family.

Trust Advisor Toodi Venkata Rao explained the activities of the Trust over the last two decades. Children’s Festival Convener Mrs. Amulya and Secretary Dr. Regullapati Mahesh Rao were present.

Later, three Bala Sahitya sessions were held in which 60 prominent children’s writers participated. Mukkamala Janakiram, Elagonda Ravi, Sagarla Sattayya, Chintakunta Kiran, Aadepu Laxman, Poreddy Ashok, Soumya and Maduri Anitha participated as coordinators and speakers.

The award ceremony held at 4 pm was presided over by Sahitya Akademi awardee and National Book Trust (NBT) Southern Region Officer Dr. Pattipaka Mohan. Distinguished guests Rangineni Naveen Kumar and Amulya presented the awards.

2024 – Mrs. Akhila Venkata Subbalakshmi
2025 – Mrs. Edla Lakshmi
2026 – Dr. Siri

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mohan said the workshop conducted by the Trust in 2016 played a key role in promoting the culture of children’s workshops, and today children’s writings and workshops are being organized extensively in both Telugu states. He said such platforms help in bringing out the creativity and hidden talents in children.

On the occasion, story books written by school children were released. Poets, writers and literary figures participated in large numbers.
