RSD-District news:  A special meeting was held on 24.02.2025 with DSPs, C.I., R.I. and S.I. in Vemulawada town police station limits regarding the arrangements to be made in terms of security regarding the MLC elections for teachers and security guards to be held on the 27th of February 2025 and the Mahashivratri fair to be held on the 25th, 26th, and 27th oF February 2025. Speaking on the occasion, the SP said that during the MLC elections to be held on the 27th of February 2025, the police officers should be thoroughly aware of the steps to be taken before, on and after the elections, and should be fully aware of the polling stations within the police station limits. The role of the police during the elections is very crucial, and the SP instructed the officers to make strong security arrangements to ensure that the polling process runs smoothly and impartially. He said that 23,347 voters will exercise their right to vote in 41 polling stations across the district for the polling of teachers and security personnel. He advised the police officers and staff to be vigilant from the beginning of the polling process until the end. He said that after the polling process is over, the ballot boxes will be moved to strong rooms with a strong escort. He said that strict action will be taken as per the election rules and regulations against anyone who commits acts that disrupt peace and security.

Strong security during Mahashivratri Jatara

He said that the police department has arranged strong security with about 1500 police officers and staff on the occasion of Mahashivratri Jatara to be held on the 25th, 26th, 27th of February 2025. If there is a security in various areas, the officers and staff should be alert and in coordination with various departments, they should ensure that the devotees coming from far away places have darshan in a peaceful atmosphere without any problems. He directed the officers and staff on duty at the main intersections and parking areas in the town to be alert and control traffic.
