VPO (Village Police Officer) system should be strengthened – SP Akhil Mahajan

On 20.04.2023, the SP directed the officers to take all necessary steps without pending cases by holding a review meeting with the police officers on the pending cases, grave cases, crime against women, sc/st cases at the district police office.

SP said that the pending cases should be solved quickly and steps should be taken as per the plan to reduce the number of pending cases. In the pending cases, investigation should be completed quickly and charge sheet should be filed. Special focus on SC/ST cases and speedy completion of investigation in POCSO Act cases. Officers were ordered to register PD Act against those who disturb peace and security for frequent social activities. The newly launched 2.0 in CCTNS is made with state-of-the-art technology, and the details of the cases are iadvised to register in CCTNS on that day. He said that the village police officer has a vital role in crime control and the VPO system in the district should be strengthened and an information system should be established at the village level. The village police officer at the village level should visit the villages and towns frequently and have good relations with the local people and collect comprehensive information. He said that tampering with number plates, some small numbers and some big numbers (jigag) should be done on the roads and a special drive should be conducted to seize such vehicles and register cases. He also said that every motorist should be made aware of the dangers of traveling without a helmet.

It is recommended to identify the sources and key persons of ganja coming from the district and state borders and register cases against them and control illegal trafficking. It is suggested to keep a watch on illegal activities such as gutka, sand smuggling, poker, gudumba, PDS rice and conduct raids and arrest them. It is suggested that CC cameras play a very important role in crime control and that everyone should work hard for the installation of CC cameras, besides that the performance of CC cameras should be checked daily and malfunctioning CC cameras should be identified and repaired. Telangana State Police has handed over certificates of appreciation to 44 officers who have provided better services to the people in the last month by using technology while implementing the functional verticals.
