5th Grade Student at Government Gurukul School Hospitalized
RSD-Warangal news: In a shocking incident that highlights safety concerns in state-run residential schools, a fifth grade girl student was bitten by a unknown creature at a government social welfare residential school in Telangana.
The incident took place on 29.08.2026 within the premises of the Social Welfare Girl’s Gurukul School located in the Rayaparthi mandal headquarters of Warangal district. The event has sparked widespread panic among students, staff, and local residents. According to local reports, the young student was playing or moving around the school campus when a hidden creature suddenly attacked and bit her. Hearing her agonizing cries, fellow classmates and school staff rushed to the spot. Upon realizing she was bitten by a creature, the school administration acted swiftly to prevent the venom from spreading. Demonstrating presence of mind, the teachers immediately rushed the semi conscious girl to the nearest Wardhannapet Community Health Centre (CHC). The duty doctors at the CHC administered critical first aid and stabilized her condition. However, to rule out further complications and provide advanced emergency care, medical authorities advised moving her to a tertiary facility. She was promptly shifted to the MGM Government Hospital in Warangal, where she is currently undergoing specialized treatment under close monitoring. As news of the incident spread, distressed parents and relatives rushed to the hospital and school. Local student unions and parents have expressed deep anger over the poor maintenance of the school grounds. They pointed out that overgrown wild bushes and lack of sanitation on campus create breeding grounds for dangerous reptiles and insects. Activists and parents are now demanding a thorough safety audit of all government hostel campuses in the district to prevent such life threatening incidents in the future.
