Extend Cheyutha Pension Deadline by 2 Months: Sircilla Councilor Demands
RSD_SIRCILLA: Sircilla Municipal 10th Ward Councilor Bolgam Vaishnavi Nagaraju Goud has demanded that the state government extend the deadline for Cheyutha pension applications by two more months and immediately sanction pensions for the elderly, beedi workers, and the disabled.
In a press statement on Sunday, he said the Congress government, even after three years in power, has failed to implement its election promises. The promise of implementing all guarantees within 100 days remains unfulfilled, he alleged.
He said that injustice is being done to eligible beneficiaries in the new pension sanction process. Many eligible elderly and beedi workers are not getting a chance to apply. He questioned, “Did the elderly and beedi workers not vote for the Congress?”
He also raised serious concerns over SADAREM certificates. He said that expired SADAREM certificates are not being renewed and camps are not being conducted regularly, due to which eligible disabled persons are unable to get pensions.
He pointed out that the deadline for new pension applications across Telangana ends on August 31, and due to lack of SADAREM certificates, technical issues, and lack of awareness in rural areas, thousands of eligible poor are unable to apply.
He demanded that the government extend the deadline by two months on humanitarian grounds and ensure that every eligible person gets a pension, and that SADAREM camps be conducted immediately to renew certificates.
