RSD- Tangallapally news: According to the prosecution, Nagunuri Maunika from Kothapalli village of Karimnagar mandal was married to Nimma Rajender from Cheerlavancha village of Tangallapalli mandal in 2015. During the marriage, two tolas of gold, 20 tolas of silver and 50000/- rupees were given as dowry. Although she was living a happy life, Maunika got married to another man earlier and got divorced after learning that she had married me without telling me. Rajender, along with his father, started harassing Maunika together. Maunika was not given proper food and was not allowed to talk to those around her. Whenever they went out, they kept her in the house and locked her outside. Even if her health was not good, they did not take her to the hospital, she was not given proper food. After her health completely deteriorated on 20.05.2018, she was taken to Sircilla Government Hospital in an ambulance and she died on the next day i.e. on 21.05.2018.

According to the complaint of Masapatri Lakshmi, who is the mother of the deceased, Tangallapally police registered a case and arrested the accused. Anil Kumar, who was the then Sircilla Rural CI, investigated and filed the charge sheet in the court. In this case, court constable Naveen and CMS constable Narender produced 17 witnesses in the court under CMS SI Srikanth, while public prosecutor Narsinga Rao argued the case, Sircilla District Chief Justice Premalatha  sentenced both accused to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and fined 5000 rupees, said Tangallapalli SI Venkateswarlu in a statement.
