General Holidays should be declared for the Sammakka Saralamma Jathara

RSD- Sircilla news: The Telangana Teachers Union (TTU) Rajanna Sircilla district president and general secretary, Kondikoppula Ravi and Doosa Madhu, in a statement, urged the Telangana state government to declare general holidays on January 30th and 31st 2026 for the Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jathara, a grand festival celebrated with great pomp and splendor, known as the Kumbh Mela of Telangana. They stated that people from all sections of society in Telangana celebrate this festival grandly, and people from Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka also come to participate. They requested that general holidays be declared for government employees and school and college students to enable them to offer their prayers to Sammakka and Saralamma. They expressed their happiness that the Telangana state government is organizing this festival, which takes place once every two years, on a grand scale. On behalf of the Telangana Teachers Union Rajanna Sircilla district branch, they appealed to the state government to declare holidays for this festival and also declare the Medaram Jathara as a national festival. They offered their humble salutations to the goddesses, stating that the Telangana society should be awakened by the fighting spirit of Sammakka and Saralamma.
