RSD- Rangareddy District: MLC Kavitha’s bail petition in Delhi Liquor case has been postponed once again. The Supreme Court adjourned it to 27th of August 2024. ED has time to file counter. With that, the bail petition was postponed to 27.08.2024. A bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice Vishwanath heard the bail petition. Kavitha approached the Delhi High Court seeking bail in the ED and CBI cases. On July 1st 2024, the court refused to grant bail. Challenging it, she approached the Supreme Court. As Manish Sisodia was granted bail in the same case, BRS leaders hoped that Kavitha would get relief this time, but the Supreme Court postponed the bail petition to 27th August 2024. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has recently been granted bail in the Delhi Liquor Scam case. On this occasion, the Supreme Court bench made key comments. It commented that there has been no progress in the investigation of this case since last October. The bench said that it is their duty to protect justice. In the background of the comments of the Supreme Court bench, there is a campaign that Kavitha will get bail in the Delhi liquor scam.

Recently, KTR and Harish Rao stayed in Delhi for four days and held discussions with lawyers. After coming from Delhi, KTR spoke to the media and said that Kavita will be out of jail soon. MLA Sanjay Kumar went to Delhi along with former ministers Vemula Prashant Reddy and Srinivas Goud hoping to get bail for Kavitha. Kavitha was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in Hyderabad on March 15th 2024 in the Delhi Liquor case and produced in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on March 16th 2024. With the permission of the court, the ED took Kavitha into custody for 10 days in two installments and interrogated her. After that, Kavitha was sent to Tihar Jail on March 26th 2024 in judicial custody for 14 days. Meanwhile, CBI intervened and arrested Kavitha while she was still in Tihar jail.
