Sircilla : With What Face Are You Coming? – BRS Fires on CM Revanth Visit
RSD_Sircilla: BRS leaders launched a scathing attack on the Congress government over the much-hyped visit of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to Sircilla.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Sircilla, Choppadandi former MLA Sunke Ravishankar and BRS District President Thota Agaiah came down heavily on the government.
The leaders said they welcome Revanth Reddy for the inauguration of the Karimnagar Collectorate built by KCR, but questioned with what face the CM is coming to Sircilla when not a single rupee has been allocated to Sircilla in the last three years.
Former MLA Sunke Ravishankar said Revanth Reddy should know how Sircilla was 12 years ago and how it has transformed under the representation of KTR. He said a region that was once known as ‘Urisilla’ (the place of suicides) was turned into ‘Sirula Silla’ (the place of wealth) by KTR’s determination and developed as a model constituency in the country. He advised Revanth Reddy to take KTR as a role model and develop his own constituency Kodangal.
Ravishankar expressed anguish that due to lack of employment under Congress rule, 35 weavers committed suicide in the last three years. He demanded an ex-gratia of Rs. 25 lakh to each deceased weaver’s family. He asked the government to answer why schemes like Rythu Bima and Chenetha Bima implemented earlier were scrapped.
He said during KCR’s regime the Mid Maneru project was completed and 90 percent of the displaced people’s issues were resolved. He demanded that the remaining displaced people be given compensation of Rs. 5.04 lakh as promised, along with employment and industrial corridors. He questioned Minister Ponnam Prabhakar who earlier spoke about Sircilla funds, whether he is not seeing the development here now.
BRS district president Thota Agaiah lashed out saying Revanth Reddy does not know governance except abusing KCR, KTR and Harish Rao. He alleged that a demonic rule is going on in the state with attacks on MLAs through goons. He warned that the CM should not come to Sircilla empty-handed and will face public protest if he does not give clear assurances on local issues.
Later, former Granthalaya Samstha Chairman Akunuri Shankaraiah and Boinpally Mandal President Kondayya recalled that KCR had earlier given Rs. 2 lakh to the youth who attained 18 years among Mid Maneru displaced. They demanded that the Congress government immediately pay the remaining Rs. 5.04 lakh compensation.
