Ragging is a legal offence

RSD- Sircilla news: On 04.11.2024, the District SP attended and directed the awareness conference organized for the students on intoxicating substances like ganja, drugs and protection of women, eve teasing, ragging, ganja and drugs at the government medical college in Sircilla town. SP said on this occasion that female students should avoid bad addictions like ragging, ganja and drugs and grow up to be the best doctors and bring good name to the district government medical college. Anti-ragging committees should be formed in the educational institutions and ragging should be stopped at the first stage and the owners of the clubs should observe the habits and behavior of the students from time to time. He said that strict legal action will be taken if the students do ragging, misbehaving with fellow students and causing them trouble, as it is not the goal of a good student. He advised the students to study together in a friendly manner regardless of whether they are seniors or juniors. He warned that ragging is a crime and strict legal action will be taken if anyone commits ragging. The details of those who commit ragging should be reported to Dial 100 and information should be provided. He advised the students not to ruin their future by getting addicted to drugs like ganja and drugs, study hard and rise to a higher level without betraying the of trust their parents which have placed in them. He said that women students should come forward and solve their problems without fear, and only when they fearlessly come forward and tell their problems, more security can be provided.
