Suicide of handloom worker couple
RSD- Sircilla news: Having no work to do, the handloom couple committed suicide as they could not find a way to pay off their past debts. This tragic incident took place in Venkampet in Sircilla town. Bairi Amar-Sravanti, a couple from Venkampet, committed suicide by hanging themselves from a beam in their house with sarees. Sircilla Power Looms does not have any orders from the government including Bathukamma sarees. As a result, thousands of handloom families lost their jobs. Amar and Sravanti couple did not see any way to survive too. The relatives lamented that the two hanged themselves as they have no other opotion. After the Congress government came to power in the state, suicides of handloom workers started again in Sircilla. Weaver families are worried that if the government does not support Sircilla, it will become Urisilla again. Having no work to do, the handloom couple committed suicide as they could not find a way to pay off their past debts. Full details regarding the incident are yet to be known.
