KTR Unveils ‘Vendi Vennela’ Saree in Sircilla, Launches New Electronic Jacquard Handloom

RSD_Sircilla: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) lauded Sircilla weaver Nalla Vijay for blending modern technology with handloom weaving.
At Vijay’s invitation, KTR visited his residence in Sircilla and unveiled a new handloom loom equipped with Electronic Jacquard technology. He also unveiled the ‘Vendi Vennela’ (Silver Moonlight) saree woven on the new loom.
Speaking on the occasion, KTR recalled legendary weaver Nalla Parandhamulu, Vijay’s father, who once wove a saree that could fit inside a matchbox and brought global recognition to Sircilla. He said Vijay is continuing his father’s legacy by conducting innovative experiments and now creating unique sarees using silver and gold threads with modern ‘Shift Jacquard’ technology.
KTR said the ‘Vendi Vennela’ saree was exquisite and that he had come to personally witness Vijay’s creativity and appreciate his skill.
Assuring full support, KTR said that once the BRS returns to power, a state-of-the-art factory will be established for Vijay in Sircilla, necessary subsidies will be provided, and more weavers will be encouraged to adopt this technology to strengthen Sircilla as a centre for modern handloom along with powerloom.
Weaver Nalla Vijay explained that electronic Jacquard technology not only increases weaving speed but also reduces physical strain, making work easier especially for women workers and enabling higher production with less effort.
