People should be alert to cyber criminals

RSD_ Cyber criminals,loan apps beware of them

RSD- Sircilla news: On this occasion, the SP said that cybercriminals are using the technology that is increasing day by day and are deceiving innocent people that they will get more money than the investment with the hope of high interest. The people of the district should not be deceived by investing in such online apps and should be vigilant against cybercriminals. Don’t open links and messages from unknown numbers, don’t share the OTPs that come to mobiles without your involvement, loan app gives easy loans and charges high interest, taking all your data under their control and causing trouble, so such apps should not be downloaded, and if anyone is a victim of such scams, they can call helpline number 1930 and dial 100.

Some of the cyber crimes that took place in Rajannasircilla district during this week.

● The victim lost Rs.94000/- by sharing the credit card details and OTP when the victim was told that it was from the Industrial Land Bank Credit Card Department Customer Care and that they would update the credit card limit of the Indian in Sircilla Town Police Station area.

● The victim received a call from an unknown number in Sircilla Town Police Station area. The caller claimed to be an executive of India Bulls Personal Loan and claimed that the victim was granted a loan of one lakh rupees for its processing fee and related charges and took 13 thousand rupees from the victim but later the victim found out that it was fake and the victim lost 13 thousand rupees.

● A person claiming to be a bank official called the victim in Sircilla Town Police Station area and asked him to complete this KYC on the bank account of the victim and installed an application in the link sent to the victim. Rs.1,35,000/-  were lost to the victim due to this.

● In Ellareddypet police station area, the victim searched on Google for a private courier service number but the number was a wrong one. The victim called the number and claimed that it was processing free and collected 5000 rupees from the victim but later the victim came to know that he lost 5000 rupees due to this.

Precautions to be taken:-

• Cyber scams in the name of lottery, be alert. If you get such messages, immediately call 1930 and complain.

• Don’t believe WhatsApp and Telegram ads that say investment in thousands and profits in lakhs.

• When depositing less money they give profit and when they deposit more amount they cheat by not giving money. Call 1930 immediately if you fall victim to such cyber fraud.

• Realize that they are cyber fraudsters who message you and ask you for a job.

• Don’t invest by looking at ads on social media, stop and think, it could be a cyber fraud.

• If you get OTP without your involvement do not tell anyone. It might be a move by cyber criminals.
