World Heart Day : Govt School in Dhamannapet Creates 12×15 ft Giant Heart Model to Teach Blood Circulation
12×15 Feet Giant Heart Model Teaches Students How Heart Works in Dhamannapet
RSD_Dhamannapet: On the occasion of World Heart Day on September 29, a unique awareness program on heart function was organized for students at the Government School in Dhamannapet.
The program was jointly organized by National Best Teacher Awardee and Physical Science teacher of the school T. Sampath Kumar and Biology expert Gudikadi Komuraiah. With active participation of students, a giant heart diagram measuring 12 feet wide and 15 feet long was created in the school premises.
To help students easily understand heart function, red and blue ribbons were tied to students symbolizing arteries and veins. Through a live demonstration, they explained how deoxygenated blood enters the heart and how oxygen-rich blood is pumped to different parts of the body.
Through this innovative activity, students not only read about heart structure, function and blood circulation in books, but also understood it easily through direct experience. Awareness was also created among students about healthy lifestyle and the need to protect heart health.
Speaking on the occasion, In-charge Headmaster Boyanagari Narayana said that concepts can be easily understood through activities. Teachers Shanigaram Narayana, Jadala Vijayashree and students participated in the program.
