Youth Arrested For Giving Open Challenge To Police, Threatening To Disrupt Ganesh Immersion In Sircilla
RSD_Sircilla:A youth who gave an open challenge to the police and threatened to disrupt law and order during Ganesh immersion festivities was arrested and sent to remand by Rudrangi police.
According to Chendurthi Circle Inspector K. Ravinder, the accused has been identified as Mothe Nitin (24), son of Bhumayya, a resident of Rudrangi.
On the 22nd of this month at 1:15 PM, the accused sent a provocative voice message in the local ‘BJP Rudrangi Mandalam’ WhatsApp group and also to a constable named Ramakrishna.
In the audio message, he challenged senior police officers, stating that he would create a severe law and order problem during the Vinayaka Nimajjanam. He threatened that the situation would go out of control even if police or military forces were deployed. He also openly threatened to kill those who argued with him or to kill himself.
Based on the complaint, Rudrangi SI M. Motiram registered a case and started an investigation. On Wednesday around 3 PM, the accused was found moving suspiciously near the local Ambedkar statue and was taken into custody. Police seized the mobile phone used to send the controversial voice message.
The accused was later produced in court and sent to judicial remand.
Speaking on the occasion, CI K. Ravinder said everyone should observe festivals with devotion and social responsibility. He warned that misuse of social media and WhatsApp groups to spread provocative or unlawful content will not be tolerated and stringent legal action will be taken against anyone who tries to disturb peace and public order.
