05 caught in drunk driving sentenced to jail
RSD- Vemulawada news: During the drunk and drive checks conducted under the jurisdiction of the Vemulawada Town Police Station on the orders of the District SP, 24 drug addicts were caught. Vemulawada police produced them in court on 23.11.2024. Out of the 24, three were sentenced to one day in jail and a fine of Rs. 1000/-, two were sentenced to two days in jail and a fine of Rs. 1500/-, and 19 were fined Rs. 1500/- each, Vemulawada JFCM Magistrate Jyothirmayi said in a statement on 23.11.2024. At the Vemulawada town police station, drug addicts who were caught drinking and driving were counseled under the supervision of the town CI and traffic SI and they were made to take a pledge to never drunk and drive again. Speaking on the occasion, the CI said that every day, drink and drive checks and vehicle checks are conducted within the limits of the town police station, and strict action will be taken against people caught driving under the influence of alcohol. He said that those caught driving under the influence of alcohol will be given counseling in the presence of their parents or family members. He warned that if they are caught driving under the influence of alcohol, they will face difficulties in future job opportunities and employment opportunities during police verification, and that legal action will be taken against them if they violate traffic and road safety rules and regulations.
