26.437 kg marijuana burnt by police under DDDC

RSD-Sircilla news: The Chairman of the District Drugs Disposal Committee, District SP Akhil Mahajan IPS, members Additional SP Chandraiah, committee members, participated in the process of burning the banned marijuana in a scientific manner. On 11.01.2025, as part of the National Drug Disposal, 26 kg 437 grams of banned marijuana seized in 83 cases registered in various police stations in the district was burnt in a scientific manner under the District SP. Speaking on the occasion, the SP said that the biggest problem plaguing the society at present is that the youth are becoming addicted to marijuana and other intoxicants and are destroying their precious future. He said that the police are effectively preventing the transportation of marijuana in the district. He informed that the remaining marijuana in the possession of the police in the district will also be burned in phases as per the law. He said that PD acts will be registered against those transporting intoxicants like marijuana and legal action will be taken. Additional SP Chandraiah, DCIRB CI Srinivas, RI Ramesh and staff participated along with the SP.
