4 people have been booked in attempted murder case, 1 arrested
RSD-Vemulawada news: Details were revealed by District SP Mahesh B. Gite, IPS. In the recent election for the Sarpanch post of Nagayapalli village, Chintapanti Mallesham won, while the opposing candidate Gopu Madhu and his wife Gopu Malathi, who also lost the ward member election, harbored a grudge against Rondhi Raju, the Market Committee Chairman of Nagayapalli village, believing him to be responsible for their defeat. They conspired to eliminate him and, with the help of their village associates Gunti Shiva and Gunti Nagesh, attempted to kill Rondhi Raju at around 2 AM on 12.12.2025. Rondhi Raju was traveling in his car from his village to Vemulawada with two other people when Gunti Shiva and Gunti Nagesh intercepted the car and tried to kill him. In this incident, Rondhi Raju sustained serious head injuries. Based on Rondhi Raju’s complaint, cases have been registered against Gopu Madhu, Gopu Malathi, Gunti Shiva, and Gunti Nagesh under attempted murder and the SC/ST Act at Vemulawada Rural Police Station. As part of the investigation, Gopu Madhu was arrested on 12.12.2025 and remanded to judicial custody, the SP said. The SP also stated that two special teams have been formed under the supervision of the DSP to apprehend the absconding accused soon.
