A husband harassing his wife for extra dowry, one year imprisonment
RSD- Sircilla news: SI Rammohan, Gambhiraopet, said that Sircilla First Class Judge Srujana has pronounced a verdict on 31.07.2024 imposing one and a half year imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 1000/- on the husband who harassed his wife for extra dowry. Speaking on this occasion, SI said that, Kunta Nagaraju of Malkapet village of Konaraupeta mandal got married to Vasantha of Mallareddypet of Gambhiraupeta mandal in the year 2005. Their marriage was smooth for some time. They had two daughters and after a few years, he harassed his wife to bring additional dowry. Unable to bear the harassment, Vasantha filed a complaint against Nagaraju at the Gambhiraupet police station in 2009. The police registered a case against Nagaraju and filed a charge sheet in the court. Public Prosecutor Yamaganti Satish Goud argued on behalf of the prosecution while Gambhiraopet SI, CMS SI Ravinder Naidu and court constable Janardhan Reddy produced seven witnesses in the court and the accused Nagaraju was found guilty. The SI said that the judge has imposed a one-and-a-half year imprisonment and a fine of 1000/- rupees.
