All births take place in government hospitals

District Collector Anurag Jayanthi has ordered the health department officials and field staff to take it as a challenge to ensure that deliveries take place in all government hospitals in the district. He said that regular review meetings should be held on the progress. On 17.05.2023, the district collector conducted a review with the officials of the district medical and health department, supervisors and ANMs of the Hanmajipet primary health center on the progress of institutional, normal deliveries, health women program and TB tests under the Hanmajipet primary health center.

District Collector said that institutional deliveries are to be taken place in all government hospitals and in some sub-primary health centres The District Collector expressed his anger on the ANMs that 100% of the births were taking place in private hospitals. The District Medical Officer ordered them to pay special attention. He said that in view of the fact that gynecologists are available at Chandurthi, Konaraopet and Vemulawada primary health centers even at night, it is the responsibility of the authorities to ensure that as many deliveries as possible take place in government hospitals and in some PHCs.

As the government has provided all the facilities in the government hospitals. ANMs should take special initiative to ensure that everyone gives birth in government hospitals as much as possible. ANMs were warned that action would be taken if the performance did not change. As part of health women’s program, ANMs should pay special attention to computerize the 16 cases referred under PHC and ensure that all of them go to the district hospital by next Wednesday i.e., by 24.05.2023. The district collector told supervisors and ANMs to increase the number of samples to identify TB victims.

In the next rainy season, they want to take up armed activities to prevent the spread of seasonal diseases. They want to plan to prevent dengue cases completely. Special attention should be given to high risk areas from now on. In order to prevent seasonal diseases, dry day should be maintained regularly, mainly without water storage. District Collector Hanmaji Peta Primary Health Center Medical Officer DR. Divya became serious about the lack of comprehensive details of those delivered in private hospitals. The collector ordered the medical officer to come with the correct data by 18.05.2023. Also, the Collector directed the District Medical Officer to take appropriate action against the CHO officers who are neglecting their duties.

Later, the district collector visited the dialysis unit being prepared for the dialysis patients in the Vemulawada area hospital. Also visited District Early Intervention Center (DEIC). He said that the District Early Intervention Center helps to prevent and reduce physical and neurological disabilities in newborns and infants.

They want to prepare both of them for the opening ceremony by June 2nd 2023. The District Collector who visited the Department of Physiotherapy Services wanted to make these services more accessible to the people. Later, the district collector visited the TB lab and examined the way tests are being conducted.
