Deputy Jailor and a petrol bunk operator Caught in ACB Trap

RSD_Huzurabad / Karimnagar: – The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Karimnagar Unit, trapped a Deputy Jailor and a petrol bunk operator for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000.
According to the official press note released today, the accused are:
AO-1: Sri Nampally Devender, Age 46, Occ: Deputy Jailor at Huzurabad Sub-Jail, Karimnagar District.
A-2: Sri Ravula Harish S/o Ashok, Age 30, Occ: Petrol Bunk Operator at Indian Oil Sub-Jail Petrol Bunk, Huzurabad.
On 07.09.2026 at around 5:45 PM, the ACB team caught both the accused red-handed at the Indian Oil Sub-Jail Petrol Bunk, Huzurabad.
Officials said AO-1 had demanded the bribe amount of Rs.10,000 from the complainant through A-2 to show official favour
“To provide better facilities to the complainant’s father-in-law, who is a remand prisoner, to facilitate visits (Mulakhaths), and to prevent prisoner transfer to Khammam Jail”.
The tainted bribe amount of Rs.10,000 was recovered from the possession of A-2. Both right and left hand fingers of A-2 tested positive in the chemical test conducted by ACB.
ACB said AO-1 performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage of his official position.
Both AO-1 and A-2 are being taken into custody to be produced before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases, Karimnagar. The case is under investigation. The details of the complainant are withheld for security reasons.
