Elections should be conducted in transparent manner

RSD- District news: District SP Akhil Mahajan IPS advised the officials to be prepared as a police machine for the upcoming elections and during the Ganesh Navratri celebrations. Crime review meeting was held with the police officials at the district police office on 21.09.2023.
He ordered the police officers to work for the prompt resolution of the pending cases. The officers should perform their duties with discipline and continue the investigation with skill, and the investigating officers should provide accurate evidence to punish the criminals. He said that the PD Act should be identified and implemented against those who frequently commit unsocial activities and crimes and disrupt peace and security.

On the occasion of the upcoming elections, a one-day training program has been organized to educate the police officers and staff of the district regarding the election rules and regulations. He said that six check posts will be set up in the district to ensure that the elections are conducted in a transparent manner. There should be clarity regarding the identification of critical polling centers and vulnerable polling areas. Care should be taken in the planning of nomination filing, campaigning, till the polling day etc. , monitoring of peace and security at sensitive polling stations, should have full knowledge of the villages under the police station. On the occasion of the election, prepare a list of those who have a criminal history, rowdy sheeters and those who disturb the peace and security during the election and conduct counseling for them and bind them before the relevant authorities. The authorities should pay special attention to the transport of money, liquor, ganja, gudumba and belt shops.

He advised that every Ganesh mandapam should be geo-tagging to prevent any untoward incidents from happening in the districts during the Ganesh Navratri celebrations. Route maps should be prepared to avoid traffic disruption during immersion processions. He said that the Ganesh mandapams should be checked frequently by Blue Colt personnel.

The officials were directed to create awareness in the villages about Operation Vimukti (De-Addiction) Center established under the District Police Department with the aim of guiding people and leading them on the right path.

The staff handed over certificates of appreciation to 22 officers who have provided better services to the people by using technology and implementing the functional verticals undertaken by the Telangana State Police Department.
