District SP Akhil Mahajan IPS said that along with the control of road accidents, the process of taking action against motorists who do not follow the rules of the road and causing disruption to the traffic will continue. He said that cases have been registered against those who do not obey traffic rules. In front of Sircilla town police station, along with District SP, Town CI and Traffic SI conducted vehicle inspection and created awareness.

SP said that most of the accidents happen due to the non-observance of road rules and regulations by motorists, every motorist should wear a helmet and seat belt while driving, not to drive while talking on a cell phone, not to drive under the influence of alcohol, everyone who drives vehicles has been asked to cooperate with the police department by obeying the road rules and traffic regulations. He said that various methods are being continued, tampering of vehicle numbers, triple riding, additional silencers are attached to the vehicles that make loud noises and the main focus will be on the vehicles causing noise pollution. He said that the motorists should register the vehicles in their name during the sale. If any certificates are not arranged during the sale, the purchased motorists will be held responsible for any illegal activities and the seller of the vehicles will be held responsible. In case of any accident, the insurance facility will be applicable if the vehicle is registered in their name, otherwise criminal cases will be registered. He suggested that the auto drivers should carry people in the autos only up to the limit, if they carry people beyond the limit, action will be taken as per the law.

In the past week, during special drives, vehicles were inspected at the police stations within the district and 458 vehicles without number plates were seized and 423 vehicles without number plates were identified and the number plates were fixed on the spot. Spot challans were imposed on 1754 vehicles that did not follow traffic rules like wrong side driving, driving vehicles without driving licenses, cell phone driving, triple riding etc., cases were registered against 28 people who consumed alcohol in public places. Sircilla town CI Anil Kumar, SI Srikanth and Raju police personnel were present along with the SP.
