History told by Koneru in the suburbs of Posettipalli

RSD- Vemulawada news: The history of Vemulawada Sri Rajarajeshwara Temple, popularly known as Dakshina Kashi, is known to everyone. Historical evidence shows that the Chalukyas ruled from the end of the sixth century to the tenth century with Vemulawada as their capital. It seems that the rulers of that time respected Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Jainism, and Buddhism equally. The former Lembala Temple, which was a complex of temples, is today’s Vemulawada. Historians say that many temples and historical places in the vicinity have already disappeared. Occasionally, some historical places come to light and the circumstances surprise us. Not only Vemulawada, but many in Rajanna Siricilla district are coming to light. The place that came to light is Posettipalli village in Vemulawada Rural area, about five or six kilometers from Vemulawada town. The area that was once the center of many historical events in Posettipalli revenue area is the area “Koneru” where many stories are intertwined.
The history of Koneru: While going towards Chandurthi in Posettipalli revenue area in Vemulawada Rural area, the area left unknown in the fields on the left is called Koneru by the locals. If you look closely, it may be difficult to recognize that Koneru is there. Koneru, which has been flourishing for centuries. Many stories are woven around this ancient Koneru, which is built with stone steps. Siddhas, who are part of Indian culture, have a special place. The villagers say that they knew from their ancestors that those who are popular as “Ashta Siddhas” in Indian philosophy used to come to this area for the darshan of Shiva. It is said that the Ashtasiddhas used to bathe in Koneru and visit the Shiva temple in Vemulawada. Koneru, which has great historical importance, has fallen into ruins and has disappeared. Neither the officials of the archaeological department nor the administrators of the Rajarajeshwara temple want to visit Koneru in Posettipalli and bring back its former glory and unearth its complete history for future generations.
