RSD- Ayodhya news: The Ram Mandir being constructed in Ayodhya will be inaugurated on January 22nd 2024. Three idols to be installed in Ram Mandir. Three sculptors made of wood.

An idol of Rama Lalla sculpted by sculptor Arun Yogiraj from Mysore, Karnataka was selected to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum. This information was given by Ramjanma Bhumi Trust. The statue of Ramlalla was unanimously chosen by voting. The statue will be inaugurated on January 22nd 2024. An MBA graduate, Arun Yogiraj left his corporate job to pursue a career in sculpture, which was his family’s legacy. Now he sculpted the Rama Lalla idol which is enshrined in the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Along with Arun from Mysore, GL Bhatt from Bengaluru and Satyanarayana Pandey from Rajasthan also sculpted this Ram Lalla statue. The length of the statue is 51 inches, the total height of the statue is 8 feet, 3 feet wide. The statue will be unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Arun will be one of the 2,000 invitees to the Prana Pratishtapana program to be held at Ayodhya’s Rama Mandira on January 22nd 2024. An MBA graduate, Arun quit his corporate job and took up a career in sculpture, which was inherited by his family. Since 2008 he has sculpted more than a thousand different idols. Earlier, Arun carved the idol of Adisankaracharya in Kedarnath temple. Arun also sculpted the statue of Subhash Chandra Bose inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi near India Gate in Delhi.

Now at Jaisalmer House in Delhi, the Justice Department offered Arun to take over Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statue. The statue has been ordered to be handed over by the end of February 2024. It will launch on April 14th 2024. Talking to TV9 about carving Ram Lalla’s idol, Arun expressed his happiness at getting the opportunity to carve Ram Lalla’s stone idol.

Stone statue of Bala Ramaiah

Ram Lalla is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Ayodhya. Lalla means child. Ram Lalla means Rama’s childhood idol. A stone idol of Lord Rama will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum of Ayodhya Ram Temple. The idol was designed based on the concept of what Rama looked like when he was a boy. The 51-inch stone statue depicts the childhood nature of Lord Rama in his innocence, mischief and majesty. It is remarkable that the form of Rama with a small child does not appear anywhere in Puranas, stories, serials, books and pages. Pictures of Rama’s childhood and Sri Krishna’s childhood through Puranas are about just a few. So there is no doubt that it will emerge as a different piece of art. It is remarkable that Arun created such a different and unique statue.

Arun Yogiraj is a genius from Mysore. Arun has 200 years of intergenerational heritage in stone sculpture. Arun’s father, grandfather and great-grandfather have been involved in the art of carving stones into sculptures for almost five generations. Arun’s father Yogiraj is also a skilled sculptor. His grandfather Basavanna Shilpi was a resident of the Mysore palace. Grandparents were also sculptors. Arun inherited the sculptural art of almost 200 years ago. Arun Yogiraj had a passion for carving since childhood. But after completing his MBA, he worked in a private company for some time. But he was not satisfied. Then he thought to continue the art of sculpture coming from their ancestors. He told his father about his wish. His father did not agree to this earlier. But he had to bow down to his son’s wish. He gave permission to his son on one condition. As an MBA graduate, don’t think of sculpture as a business. Work with devotion. Moreover, the father put conditions that there should be no marketing like buying and selling of stone idols. Only artistic service should be done here. Arun Yogiraj agreed to it on his father’s terms and continued his sculpting career since 2008.

From the cultural capital to the nation’s capital!

Arun Yogiraj is obsessed with his art. He proved that art is in his blood. Miracles are born. At first he started a new innings by carving small pavilions. After that idols of Panchmukhi Ganapati, Mahavishnu, Buddha, Nandi, Swami Shivabala Yogi, Shivakumar and Banashankari Devi were carved and handed over to the temples. After this, the 5 feet Garuda idol in Mysore. 7 feet statue of Lord Yoganarasimha Swamy in KR Nagar, India’s largest 10 feet monolithic white marble Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa sculpture, 11 feet monolithic modern art stone sculpture “Creation of Creation” at Mysore University, 15 feet monolithic white marble Mysore Maharaja Jayachamaraja Wadayar with pedestal, sculpture, 15 feet Ambedkar sculpture with white marble monolith pedestal. The 21 feet monolithic Hanuman Hoysala sculpture at Chunchakatta in KR Nagar is masterfully crafted by Arun. Arun Yogiraju, who was recognized at the state level, took the state-level recognition of Subhash Chandra Bose’s masterpieces to the national level, such as the 12-foot statue of Adi Shankaracharya at Kedarnath in Uttarakhand and the 28-foot monolithic black granite stone at India Gate. These works of art were unveiled by the Prime Minister himself. Now the hat-trick created by Arun with the Ram Lalla idol will be a masterpiece.

Idol with devotional attention

Seeing the talent of Arun Yogiraj, Prime Minister Modi once again gave permission to carve the statue of Bala Ramaiah. Two other sculptors carved the statue of Ram Lalla. Among the three, whose idol is the most attractive and meaningful is enshrined in the main pallavi. It has been decided to install the remaining two idols in the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. The way Arun Ram Lalla statue is carved is impressive. When Arun was selected for the engraving, he was given a bracelet. Before starting the work, he recited Sri Rama Stotra and began to carve the idol with devotion. Arun always spends time with children with the intention of making the idol of Bala Ramaiah happy. He used to sit for hours where the children were and observe the gestures of the children. As a result of this, Arun molded the image of Bala Ramaiah so that the boyish form is emphasized.
