One year imprisonment, fine for accused in theft case

RSD-Sircilla news: Sircilla First Class Judge Praveen pronounced the verdict on 29.05.2025, imposing one year imprisonment and a fine of two hundred rupees on the accused in the theft case, said Sircilla Town Inspector Krishna. Speaking on this occasion, the inspector said that a man named Edapelli Srinivas, who was staying in Siddhartha Nagar, Sircilla town, locked his house with his family members on the occasion of Sankranthi festival and went to his home on 11/01/2025. On the morning at 9 am, Srinivas’s house owner, Pallepati Rajeswara Rao, called and said that the house was unlocked. When Srinivas came from out of station, he found that the lock of the house was broken. When he went inside, he saw that the almirah cabinet had been broken and Rs. 70,000/- and two tolas of silver in the cabinet had been stolen. Srinivas filed a complaint at the Sircilla police station that some unknown persons had committed theft during the night. After registering a case by S.I. Srikanth, the accused, Kimmasaram Suresh s/o Gattaiah Subhash Nagar Siddipet, was arrested and remanded. Later, a charge sheet was filed in the court. S.I. Shravan and Court Constable Naresh produced the accused in the court. Since the accused confessed to the crime, the judge Sircilla CI K. Krishna said that accused has been sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of two hundred rupees was imposed.
