In the press conference, SP said on 14/08/2022 night unknown thieves broke the lock of a locked house in Vemulawada and done theft, a case was registered by O. Venkatesh, Inspector of Police in Vemulawada Police Station as per the details given by the owner of the house, Enugula Manohar Reddy. A special team was constituted and with CCTV footages and other credible information, the accused 1) Thallapelli Dhanalakshmi and her husband

2) Thallapelli Prasad s/o Kishtaiah were identified and tactfully arrested them on 03-09-2022 at 05.00 hrs. 31.8 tola of gold and 32.5 tola of silver ornaments which they had stolen from their house at Uppagadda Vemulawada and Rs.11,500/- in cash were recovered and these two committed theft during night in Rudravaram village last year i.e. on 04-05-2021 and took gold ornaments and cash out of which gold ornaments worth about 6 tolas were recovered from them. The couple had previously committed many thefts in Vijayawada and Mancheryala areas.

He said that people should not keep large amount of gold ornaments and money in the house. It is better to keep them in the bank. When the owners of the house go on trips for a long time, they should inform the local police station or the village police officer or the locals around the house. The role of CCTV cameras is important in crime control. He said that everyone should install CCTV cameras.
