Telangana elections postponed?

RSD- Telangana news: Elections to the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Mizoram including Telangana are to be held in this December. Now, if the Center passes a bill or constitutional amendments in the Parliament towards Jamili elections, there is a possibility that it will affect the conduct of the elections in these five states. At the end of the term of the assembly in the states, the assembly has to be filled with new members.

At the same time, the Election Commission has special powers in the conduct of elections. Analysis has started that if the decision is made in the Parliament, the elections of these five states are likely to be held along with the Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, elections will be held in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh along with the Parliament in March 2024.

If the plan is implemented as planned by the Centre, there is a possibility that 12 state assembly elections will be held along with the Lok Sabha. In this regard, the Center has formed a committee with 16 members under the leadership of former President Ram Nad Kovind on the possibilities. This committee will give a report. With this, it will be clear whether the elections of five states, including Telangana, will be held as per schedule or will be delayed according to the decisions taken in the Parliament sessions to be held from 18th of this September 2023.
