RSD-Mulugu District news: On the first day, Saralamma reaches Gadde from Kannepally that is on 21.02.2024. At night Pagiddaraju reaches Medara from Punugondla and Govindaraju from Kondai reaches Gadde. With this, the Mahajatara will formally begin. On the second day, on 22.02.2024, Sammakka will be brought from Chilakalagutta to the throne with government symbols. As Sammakka reaches the paddy fields, the fair reaches its flag level. On the third day, devotees flock to pay their respects to the mothers on 23.02.2024, as Saralamma and Sammakka, the idols of the tribals, join the altar. On the fourth day 23.02.2024, after praying to the mothers on the fields, Sammakka will return to Chilukalagutta, Saralamma to Kannepalli, Pagiddaraju to Poonugonda, and Govindaraju to Kondai after 6 pm. This ends Medaram Mahajatara.

Devotees who come to Medaram Mahajatara take holy bath in Jampanna river. It is a tradition to visit mothers only after taking holy bath in Jampanna river. From Bridges on Jampanna Vagu in Medaram, Jampannavagu becomes a sea of people with devotees up to 10 km taking holy bath. Medaram, Narlapur, Oorattam, Kannepally, Kalvapally, Reddygudem areas are also near Jampannavagu, so devotees queue up to take holy bath here.

Jampannawagu, filled with people, resembles the Kumbh Mela held on the Ganga and Yamuna rivers in Prayagraj. With this, Medaram Jatara is being called as Telangana Kumbh Mela. Crores of devotees coming to a tribal fair is also recognized as a rare fair in the world. On 23rd  of Februray 2024 President Draupadi Murmu will come to Medaram and visit dieties. Governor Tamilisai and CM Revanth Reddy will also visit Medara on the same day.
