Workers should prioritize health care

RSD- Sircilla news: On 26.11.2025, a mental health conference was organized by renowned psychologist K. Punnamchandar for power loom workers in Sircilla, Ganesh Nagar under the Mind Care and Counseling Center Government General Hospital. Speaking on the occasion, psychologist Punnamchandar said that workers should prioritize mental health care. He said that in the current rapidly changing world, in the context of increasing work responsibilities, there is an increasing situation where workers are neglecting their physical and mental health. He said that if health deteriorates, productivity decreases and family and financial problems become more serious. In this context, he advised the workers that it is imperative to prioritize health care. He said that there are many bad habits like alcoholism, chewing tobacco, smoking beedi and cigarettes among the workers. He said that many physical and mental problems arise due to bad habits. He explained to the workers that many lifestyle diseases like brain, nerve problems, insomnia, fears, stress, anxiety, depression, blood pressure, diabetes, cancer are caused by bad habits. He said that it is very important for the workers to undergo regular medical check-ups, have good health habits, get proper nutrition, get enough rest and get mental health services. He said that health should be the first priority to identify and prevent problems like fatigue, stress and mental illnesses. Therefore, he urged every worker to receive the message that “health should be the first priority”. He urged them to consult the Mind Care and Counseling Center, Government General Hospital to get rid of mental problems.
