Acused should be punished severely: District SP Akhil Mahajan

District SP Akhil Mahajan IPS suggested that the punishment of criminals in court cases and increasing the percentage of punishments can bring a good change in the society. On 07.04.2023, a meeting was held with the police officers who perform court duties in the district police office.

SP suggested that everyone should work responsibly in order to ensure that the criminals are strictly punished in coordination with the judicial authorities. He asked them to constantly monitor the progress of the pending cases and work to solve the cases by following the advice and instructions of the superiors. As part of the prosecution, the non-bailable warrants issued by the court should be implemented regularly and efforts should be made to punish the criminals and increase the conviction rate. He said that it is possible to control crime only when the accused are punished in court cases, and accordingly it is suggested that cases should not  be pending. He said that the concerned police station officer as well as the court duty staff have a lot of responsibility in working to ensure that the criminals are punished.
