Arrest of two accused for committing robberies

RSD_ Robberies targeting single women walking alone

RSD- Sircilla news: District SP Akhil Mahajan, IPS., disclosed in a media conference organized in the district police program that two accused who were committing robberies targeting women walking alone were arrested by the Sircilla Rural Police and taken to remand. Sirisilla Rural CI Sadan Kumar, RSI Junaid, police  men Narender, Rajasekhar, Srinivas and Akshar, who played a key role in catching the two accused, were congratulated by the District SP who gave away them reward.

On this occasion, SP said that Rudrapu Poshavva age 75 years from Jillella village of Tangallapally mandal. An elderly woman went to RMP Dr. Lingareddy at Jillella Crossing due to illness (fever) on 12.1.2024 at around 03:30 PM and was walking back to her home after receiving an injection, when two unidentified men and women on a bike approached Poshavva and attacked her. When she was told that they would drop her near her house, she believed their words and went with them on the bike, but they forcibly cut the chain around her neck and ran away. Poshavva complained at Tangalapally Police Station, a case was registered based on the complaint and as a part of the investigation, Sircilla Rural CI Sadan Kumar RSI Junaid and his staff formed a special team and identified the accused on the basis of CCTV footages located in Nerella, Jillella Cross Roads, Mallapur Temple, Terlumaddi, Morrapur Badanakal, Potgal, Mustabad, Regulakunta villages and identified the accused on 26-1-2024 around four o’clock in the evening at Baddenapalli. While checking the vehicle at the cross road, two suspicious persons were detained and interrogated and they identified Siddhran Yadavva w/o Odelaiah aged 33 years, r/o Padmanabham Palli village Dubbaka mandal and presently residing in Siddipet along with he,r Bodanu Naresh s/o Ellaiah, 30 years, r/o Peddagundavelli, Dubbaka mandal is also residing in Siddipet. The SP said that they are currently staying in Siddipet, Dubbaka Mandal, Peddagundavelli. Both of them have been remanded in custody on 27.01.2024 as they have admitted that during the investigation, they have committed robberies targeting single women with the intention of making easy money in view of the financial situation.

Police’s appeal to the people.

Women should be careful especially when traveling alone, not to believe the deceitful words of unknown persons. CC cameras are crucial in crime control and arresting the accused, so the SP asked everyone to install CC cameras on this occasion.
