Crimes controlled, if the perpetrators fear impunity
RSD- Sircilla news: District SP said that change in the society will come only with the increase of punishments, if the perpetrators of the crime are made to fear that the punishment will be severe then most of the crimes in the society will be under control and the role of the court duty officers is crucial as the accused are punished in every case. A meeting was held with the court duty officers at the district police office on 24.08.2024. SP said on this occasion that by increasing the percentage of punishments in court cases and punishing the wrongdoers, people will have more respect and trust in the police department. He asked the court constables about the execution of sentences in the cases and the settlement of the pending cases, and made several suggestions regarding the progress of the pending cases, warrants, summons etc. in the courts. From the time the court constable registers the FIR till the completion of the case, the court duty officers should play a key role in presenting the necessary evidence and witness statements to the court to prove the accused’s crimes and work to prove the accused guilty and punish them. It is suggested that control of crimes is possible only when the accused are punished in court cases, accordingly it should be ensured that cases are not pending, court information related to prosecution should be communicated to the concerned station house officer from time to time, PP’s advice should be taken during case trials.
