RSD- district news:Links in the name of fake jobs on social media are deceptive, do not be fooled by such links and advertisements, do not invest online hoping for high profits or hear someone say and do not be fooled by looking at ads on social media. District SP Akhil Mahajan IPS advised that people should be cautious about cyber crimes.

Similarly, we should never share our personal information on social media because cyber criminals wait for such opportunities, so be careful while using phones, people should not be fooled by fake lotteries, fake bank account information and fake gift boxes, loan apps etc. , said that if you call 1930 immediately after any cyber crime, you can get your lost money back.

Some cyber crimes committed in Rajannasircilla district during this week in August 2023

● The victim received a message on WhatsApp from an unknown number of Boinpally police station. He said that he can earn money through a part-time job during free time. He believed that if you watch YouTube videos and subscribe, you will get money, then there will be some tasks and if you participate in them, you will get even more money. Later, after he started investing in stocks and see till the money becomes more.It is said that if you stop in the middle, the money will be held and the money you made will not come back.

●The victim received a call from an unknown number within Sircilla Town Police Station. He believed that he had received a parcel from Indian Post Services and it was on hold and if he transferred Rs.5/- the parcel would arrive. Rs.43,974/- was lost from his account when he said the OTP later.

●The victim searched the customer care number of Me Show App on Google and called that number in the area of Sircilla Town Police Station which was connected to the cyber criminal. The victim followed the instructions given by the criminal. The victim lost Rs.8000/- by downloading the Any Desk app and telling the bank details and credentials as told by the cyber fraudster.

Precautions to be taken
• Have you received a call or a message saying that you have got a lottery or loan? Immediately call 1930 and complain.
• Do not pick up video calls from strangers, if you do, they will be naked, record your video call, threaten you and extort money.
• Don’t believe social media ads like WhatsApp and Telegram that claim investment of thousands and profits of lakhs.
• When depositing less money they give profit and when they deposit more amount they cheat by not giving money. Call 1930 immediately if you fall victim to such cyber fraud.
• Realize that they are cyber fraudsters who message you and ask you for a job.
