Election rules should be strictly enforced said SP Akhil Mahajan

RSD- Sircilla news: On 31.10.2023, the district police office reviewed the security arrangements, check posts, security and preparedness at the nomination centers with the police officials.

SP said that in view of the fact that the process of receiving nominations for the assembly elections will start from the 3rd of November 2023, strong security arrangements will be made at the nomination centers to prevent any untoward incidents. He said that there should be awareness.Those who have criminal history related to the last election, rowdy sheeters, those who disturb the peace and security during the elections should be identified and ordered to be bound over. He said that steps should be taken to prevent drug and alcohol smuggling within the limits of every police station. He said that a flag march should be organized in critical centers with the central forces that have arrived in the district.

He said that from the day the election code came into effect, 43,33,475/- rupees, 1033.35 liters of liquor, 9 kg 450 grams of ganja, 1,37,035-/ rupees of voter enticement items were seized in the district inspections, similarly 785 people were bound over in 281 cases in the district. He said that as the Election Code is in force during the assembly elections, vehicle checks will be carried out intensively at the check posts and in the district, armed checks should be carried out to prevent the transportation of money, liquor and other valuables to entice the voters.
