Farmers don’t get discouraged- Govt buys every grains

Farmers should not be disheartened, District Collector Anuraga Jayanthi assured the farmers that every paddy seed grown by the farmers in the district will be procured. The district collector held a teleconference with the officials of all departments related to agriculture, civil supplies, horticulture and revenue departments on 26.04.2023 regarding the crop damage due to untimely rains in the district. He said that the farmers who have lost their crops due to heavy rains and hailstorms in the district should not lose heart at the time of harvest and a report will be prepared and sent to the government to compensate the affected farmers.

The district collector asked the agriculture and horticulture officials about the crop loss and ordered them to immediately visit the field level and prepare a crop loss report. In view of heavy rain forecast for the next one or two days, all the officials should be alert in the field. The grain at the grain buying centers should be covered with taarphalin. The officials were directed to move the purchased grain to the rice mills on war footing without delay.

District Additional Collectors B Sathyaprasad, N Khemya Naik, RDOs T Srinivasa Rao, Pawan Kumar, District Agriculture Officer Randhir Reddy, Horticulture Officer Jyoti, District Civil Supplies Officer Jitender Reddy, Tasildars and others participated in the teleconference.
