Focus should be on speedy resolution of atrocity cases – District Vigilance Monitoring committee

District Collector Anurag Jayanthi and SP Rahul Hegde directed the concerned officials to solve the atrocity cases related to SC and STs in the district quickly and pay special attention in providing speedy justice to the victims.

District Vigilance Monitoring Committee held a review meeting on atrocity cases related to SC and ST communities in the complex of integrated district offices on 17.12.2022.

In this regard, the members of the Atrocity Committee disclosed the details of the pending cases in the district. It was brought to the attention of the Collector and SP that there is a delay in solving some cases. He said that even if a complaint is filed under atrocity in some police stations, a case is not registered immediately. Collector was asked to pay attention to this matter immediately

District Collector Anurag Jayanthi said that efforts are being made to quickly solve the atrocity cases related to SC and ST in the district. Special attention will be given to resolve cases more quickly. He said that civil rights day is being organized regularly as per the schedule in the colonies of the village where there are many SCs and STs under the supervision of Mandal Tahsildars. If there are any pending issues related to SCs and STs, the members should bring them to their attention.

SP Rahul Hegde said that an FIR is registered as soon as a complaint of atrocity is received in the police stations. He said that they are investigating without laxity and if they do not respond at the police station, they should bring it to their attention immediately. He said that we are working hard to resolve the cases quickly.
