Folk Dancer Madhuri Rathod’s Suicide Attempt Goes Viral on Social Media
RSD_HHyderabad:The incident of folk dancer Madhuri Rathod’s suicide attempt went viral on social media yesterday.
According to reports from several media outlets, she took this extreme step at her residence in Puppalaguda, Hyderabad. Her family members noticed it, broke open the door, rescued her and shifted her to a private hospital. She is now said to be out of danger.
Background of the issue:
A few weeks ago, videos went viral showing Madhuri and fellow folk dancer Eshwar Sai together in a hotel room in Vemulawada, Siricilla district, when Eshwar Sai’s wife Sharanya caught them red-handed.
Following that, Madhuri Rathod filed a complaint at the Narsingi Police Station on August 21-22, alleging that Eshwar Sai had cheated her on the pretext of marriage. She also filed a case under the IT Act, alleging character assassination using AI-morphed videos.
Allegations against police:
Reports state that Madhuri and her family have expressed anguish alleging that even after days of filing the complaint, the accused Eshwar Sai has not been arrested and that Narsingi police are trying to shield him. Family members say that she attempted suicide due to this distress.
In connection with this, a suicide note is reportedly going viral on social media, in which she allegedly held Eshwar, Sharanya, and those who trolled her responsible. However, police are yet to officially respond to this.
Netizens and fellow artists are demanding justice for Madhuri over this incident.
