Review meeting on Rabi season paddy purchase – Rajannasircilla district

On 31.03.2023, Mr. Khimya Naik, District Revenue Collector, Rajannasircilla held a review meeting with concerned officials (Rabi) Yasangi 2022-23 rice grain purchase review meeting.

The District Revenue Collector said that in this (Rabi) Yasangi 2022-23 season, we have set a target of collection of three lakh forty thousand (3,40,000) metric tons of grain. The minimum support price for grade-A type of paddy which the government has fixed is Rs 2060/- per quintal and for common type of paddy it is Rs. 2040/- per quintal. It has been informed that purchases are going to start in the 3rd week of April 2023 through all 259 grain purchase centers (IKP-47, PACE-196, DCMS-12, MEPMA-4). He informed that enough gunny bags are available for this purpose.

He said that Agricultural Extension Officers (AEO) will play an important role in this season. He said that the grain brought by the farmers to the purchase centers should be cleaned with paddy cleaner, verified by the Agricultural Extension Officers (AEO) as per the FAQ rules, weighed and sent to the allotted mill. He said that the grain transport contractors have been instructed to ensure that there is no problem in grain transport and 300 lorries will be available continuously. It is not mandated that 2 or more vehicles must be provided to each buying center with rice grain transport contractors.

The millers in the district have also instructed the mills that they should keep enough porters available in their mills and import the grain immediately so that there are no problems in importing the grain. The District Marketing Officer has been instructed to ensure that tarpaulins, micher meter and paddy cleaners are available to every purchase center by April 7th 2023. In this Yasangi, it has been suggested that the people of each buying center as well as the farmers should take proper precautions so that the paddy grain sown in the buying center does not get damaged due to untimely rains.

In this meeting, DCSO Jitender Reddy, DMCSC Jitendra Prasad, District Transport Officer Mr. Kondal Rao, DAO Randhir Reddy, District Marketing Officer Praveen, District Legal Metrology Officer Mr. Mr. Rupesh Kumar, Assistant Registrar Mrs. Ramadevi, District Assistant Rural Development Officer Ravi Kunu and representatives of transport contractors and millers participated.
