Students should learn self defense procedures- “Operation Jwala”

RSD- Sircilla news:District SP Akhil Mahajan attended the inauguration program of “Operation Jwala” training camp organized on 27.06.2023 at Zilla Parishad High School, Gitanagar, Sircilla town.

Speaking on this occasion, the SP said that a special initiative has been taken to improve the safety of women and that self-defense training has been organized for the female students of the district. Moreover, training is being conducted for three months in 113 government high schools of the district by experienced trainers on self-defense. He said that this training will be given for 10 days in high schools. It has been clarified that self-defense is very necessary for women these days and that is why we are giving high priority to self-defense. He said that such self defense trainings are very useful for the students to face the problem bravely in times of danger. He said that such programs have been undertaken to teach techniques like chain snatching and effective repulsion of women in the course of sexual assaults, when caught in the clutches of molsters. In the current situation, every woman needs to learn self-defense methods.
He said that Telangana Police is constantly working for the safety and protection of women and students, She Team police are working in civilian clothes in busy areas, bus stands and other areas to protect them from the clutches of the molsters. He said that the problem can be solved by giving information to dial 100.

District Education Officer Ramesh Kumar said that in today’s society, women are excelling in all fields but somewhere they are being harassed and it is the responsibility of everyone in the society to eliminate this. He said that these self-defense techniques are very useful for women to protect themselves. He said that every student should use this opportunity provided by the police department. Training on defense techniques is commendable.
