In order to eliminate the system of child labour, the central government organizes two programs in a year called Operation Smile and Operation Muskan to identify the missing children and bring them back to their parents.
Education Department, District Child Protection Department and various departmental officials formed teams in the district to identify non-governmental voluntary organizations and conduct extensive inspections.
SP Rahul Hegde said that 28 (26 boys, 02 girls) child labourers were identified and brought back to their parents in Operation Muskan-8, which was conducted from July 1 to 31 of this year.
He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to protect the rights of children and he asked us to work responsibly to eliminate the child labor system. He said that often those who are making children to work are identified and cases are registered against them. When you see street children, you should dial 100 or to the local police to inform them. SP said that the names of those who provided information will be kept confidential. District SP congratulated the officers of all departments who contributed to the success of Operation Muskan.
