District SP Akhil Mahajan said that strict action will be taken against the illegal traffic and consumption of ganja in the district and strict punishment will be given to the accused who are caught in ganja cases. He said that the district police machinery will establish special plans and carry out regular inspections in mandals and villages in order to eliminate cannabis and narcotic substances in the district. He said that strict action is being taken against the key persons and the corners of cannabis coming to the district from different districts.

Police officers have been instructed to take appropriate action against the youths to prevent them from getting addicted to drugs and if drugs are sold or supplied anywhere, he warned that cases will be registered and PD Act will be registered if the youths are addicted to drugs by transporting and selling ganja within the district.

A lot of young people under the influence of ganja are committing crimes without their knowledge and are spending life in prison. Youth should not ruin their golden future by getting addicted to ganja and narcotic substances. If there is any information about the sale of ganja and any other intoxicants, they should immediately report to the police station or dial 100 and keep the names of those who gave the information confidential. He said that parents should pay attention to the behavior of their children and if they bring those who are addicted to ganja and cannot stop, they will educate them with psychological experts.

In the last 15 days, 9 ganja cases have been registered in the district and 27 people have been arrested and 3 kg 925 grams of ganja has been seized. In the month of February, Vikram Kumar of Gudem village of Mustabad mandal was caught while consuming and selling ganja. SP said that we will work hard to punish the accused caught in the ganja cases.
