Trap of seduction, a couple bait

RSD-Karimnagar news: Karimnagar Rural police have exposed the misdeeds of a husband and wife who were blackmailing people through social media. For the past two years, a married couple residing in a flat at Sri Sai Nivasa Apartments in Arepally, Karimnagar Rural mandal, had been posting their photos on Instagram. The wife would post pictures on her phone, and some people, seeing these posts, would follow her on Instagram, obtain her number, and contact her. She would tell them to bring money, stating that she would only engage in sexual activity if they paid. After she provided her address, approximately 100 people from Karimnagar and the surrounding areas, including some wealthy businessmen and young men, would come to her apartment. With her husband’s permission, they would engage in sexual activity with her and give her money. During these encounters, while they were naked, her husband would record videos on his phone. They used the money they received to pay the apartment EMI loan and bought a Tata car, living a luxurious life. Their apartment also had air conditioners, sofa sets, and expensive beds. They would also threaten those who came to them, saying they had videos of them naked and would make them viral, thus extorting money. Some influential people, fearing that their reputation would be ruined if the naked photos were leaked, would give them money. About a year ago, a man from Karimnagar, who had become very close to them, would drink alcohol with the husband and frequently engage in sexual activity with the wife. They would deceive him with sweet talk and make him pay for their apartment loans and car EMIs. Eventually, when he ran out of money and stopped coming for a few days, when they called him on WhatsApp and asked why he wasn’t coming, he replied that he didn’t have any money and told them to forget about him. The couple then told him to give them five lakh rupees, and they would forget about him. When he said he didn’t have the money, they didn’t stop there. They threatened to send his videos to his family if he didn’t give them the 5 lakh rupees, and if he still didn’t comply, they threatened to kill him. Fearing for his life, he decided to give them one lakh rupees. He went alone to their house to give them the money and was waiting at the Sripuram Colony board to book a Rapido when the same couple who had threatened him arrived in their car, intending to go to his house. Seeing him there, they called him over and threatened him again, asking if he would give them the money or if they should kill him. Frightened, the man gave them the one lakh rupees he had with him, promising to send the remaining four lakhs in two days. He pleaded with them not to harm him and to delete the videos, saying he had already given them almost 14 lakh rupees. They threatened that if he didn’t give them the remaining 4 lakhs, they would definitely release the videos and kill him in some way, and then they left. The man, terrified, told his relatives and friends about the entire incident. They advised him to file a complaint at the police station. He filed a complaint on January 13th 2026, at the police station, showing proof that he had sent the money via PhonePe. A case has been registered against the couple at the police station. Following the orders of ACP Vijay Kumar, CI Niranjan Reddy and his team are investigating the matter. While the Sub-Inspectors and their staff were searching in two groups, at 8 AM on 14.01.2026 morning, the couple were spotted driving their car and stopping at Tasty Dhaba to make a phone call. Suspicious, the police apprehended them and questioned them. They confessed to the crime, revealing all the details. They showed the car they had bought, the mobile phones containing the videos of them naked, and the cheque given by the complainant. The police seized these items, brought them to the police station, and produced them before the Magistrate for remand and for further action. The Magistrate ordered their imprisonment for 14 days, and they were escorted to jail. The accused couple are from Mancherial district and have a son and a daughter. They had been living in Karimnagar for some time and carrying out this activity. Karimnagar Rural ACP Vijay Kumar congratulated the Karimnagar Rural police staff for solving the case and apprehending the culprits within 24 hours.
