Water shortage in India in two years: United Nations warning

RSD – India news: The United Nations has recently revealed that the ground water in India’s Indo-Gangetic basin is already running low. It is estimated that the groundwater levels in the north-western states of India will fall to the lowest level (below the critical level) by 2025. A report has been released to this effect. The report was released ahead of the key COP28 meeting on climate next month.

A United Nations report mentioned that the dependence on groundwater is increasing due to extreme heat and drought. It is said that if the Ice Mountains melt then the water will become cloudy. It is said that with the changes in the climate, the Ice Mountains will melt, due to which the rivers will be filled with water and the ground water will dry up. The United Nations has said that Saudi Arabia, India and the US will have to face major problems mainly due to climate change.

It is said that if the water level falls below the ecologically critical levels, it will be impossible to recover from there. It mentioned that 70 percent of groundwater is used for agricultural purposes. It reminded that this situation is due to insufficient water flows on earth. It warned that if the groundwater level drops, farmers will not be able to access it, which will affect the entire food production. Saying that the underground water has already fallen below the crucial tipping point in Saudi Arabia, India also said that it is not too far from this. India, which consumes the most ground water in the world, has pushed America and China back in this regard.
