4 members of Ganjai smuggling gang arrested.

RSD- Tirupati news: The police of Tirupati Rural Special Enforcement Bureau identified and caught the smugglers while conducting checks on the west side of platform number 1 of Renigunta railway station.

A1. Lepakshi Baba Fakhruddin is the mastermind of the ganja gang and has 5 cases against him in the past. A1, A4 are father and son.

All the accused are living as laborers in Tirupati and are dealing in ganja.

PD Act was filed on all gang members and opened the cannabis sheets.

The officers of the Special Enforcement Bureau who were cunningly beaten and caught.

Both trafficking and possession of marijuana is a crime under the law. Therefore, in addition to taking strict action against such people, action will be taken against them under PD-Act, Tirupati District SP P. Parameswara Reddy IPS., and District Special Enforcement Bureau Nodal Officer Rajendra have so far issued clear orders to Police and Special Enforcement Bureau officials across the district. According to their orders, Tirupati Rural Special Enforcement Bureau officials intercepted the illegal ganja shipment and arrested 4 smugglers on 24.08.2023 morning.

A1. Lepakshi Baba Fakhruddin, Age: 53 Years, S/o Mastan Saheb, D.no: 13-7-791 A/22, Vinayaka Nagar, Tuda Office, Tirupati.

A2. Alimishetty Radhika, Age: 39 Years, W/o Alimishetty Kumar, D.no:5-57-9, SC Colony, Gotlur, Dharmavaram, Anantapur District.

A3. S. Sharibha, Age: 40 Years, W/o Late Babu Basha, D.no:5-37D, Talari Street, Vijayapuram Village and Mandal, Chittoor District.

A4. Lepakshi Mohammed Arif, Age: 21 Years, S/o L. Baba Fakhruddin, D.no:13-7-791 A/22, Vinayaka Nagar, Tuda Office, Tirupati.
Case Details:
On 24.08.2023, District SP P. Parameswara Reddy IPS., held a press conference at the district police office and disclosed the details of the case. On this occasion, SP said that on 24-08-2023 at 09:00 AM, as per the accurate advance information received by A. Rajendra, Tirupati District Special Enforcement Bureau Nodal Officer, under his supervision, Tirupati Rural SEB Inspector Phanindra, SI Bhaskar and Tirupati Rural SEB station staff while carrying out checks in the west direction of platform number 1 of Renigunta railway station identified 4 persons with suspicious movements and searched them and recovered 27 packets of ganja weighing 54 Kg, 3 cell phones and a Honda Activa all worth about Rs.4,86,000/- from their possession. Blue colored scooter AP 03 CR 7637 motorcycle number was recovered and seized.

Immediately alerted, their staff caught them and interrogated them and found out that the ganja was purchased from Odisha and the said ganja was being transported to Mumbai through our state. A1. Lepakshi Babu Fakhruddin, who is used to making easy money, has formed a gang for himself and has come to know in their preliminary investigation that he is often involved in this smuggling business.
The defendants bought the ganja from the persons of Pintu @ Ravikumar and Chitti Babu in the state of Odisha and brought it into our state. The Tirupati Rural SEB police caught them and stopped them while they were waiting to go to Mumbai at Renigunta railway station with the intention of selling to people named Rahul and Devdas in Mumbai.
A1. There were 5 cases against Lepakshi Babu Fakhruddin in the past in our state. A2. Radhika Dharmavaram, A3. Sharibha Vijayapuram, A4. Lepakshi Mohammed Arif were working as laborers in Tirupati and in between they were dealing in ganja. The involvement of A2, A3 and A4 in other ganja cases is also being investigated. As the accused A1 and A4 are residents of Tirupati city, investigation is going on whether they are supplying the entire ganja to other states or misusing it locally. He said that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted to find out who is helping this gang in Tirupati district and strict action will be taken against all of them as per law. Technical investigation is being done to find out whether A1 Lepakshi Babu Fakhruddin has any connection with gangs of Tamil Nadu and Kerala states.
Police & SEB jointly put iron feet on ganja and arrested 710 criminals in 251 ganja cases and seized 3494 kg of ganja. Their value is around 4 crore rupees. In the above cases it has been observed that mainly the supply of ganja starts from the state of Odisha and is transported to other states through our state.

In order to prevent the college students from getting affected by drugs, police & SEB in partnership with teachers and hostel wardens have jointly formed 92 Drug Abusive Prevention Committees across the district and conduct frequent counseling and awareness programs, to explain the dangers of drug use.
