Accused arrested for stealing bag of money in bus

RSD-Sircilla news: Speaking on this occasion, the DSP said that Narla Srinivas of Vemulawada had Rs. 3,97,500/- to be paid to wholesale shops in Hyderabad. Along with cash, he boarded a bus at Vemulawada bus stand at 11:40 am on December 3rd 2025. He sat in the last seat with his bag under it, then moved to the front seat and sat down. When bus reached Tangallapalli at 12:15 pm, he went to the back seat and looked for the bag, he questioned the conductor and said that a person had got off the bus at Sircilla. Srinivas approached Sircilla town police. A case was registered and the police personnel immediately formed two special teams and based on all the CCTV footage from Vemulawada to Sircilla, they identified the accused as Bandari Balaraju of Rundraram village in Vemulawada mandal. He was arrested on 05.12.2025 and questioned. The accused admitted that he had boarded the Siddipet bus in Vemulawada itself and sat in the back seat, and that the complainant had put the bag under the seat next to him. When he got the opportunity, he saw the money in the bag and thought of stealing it, and even though he had taken a Siddipet ticket, he got off at Chandrampet. The police recovered all the cash from the accused and sent the accused to remand, the DSP said. While travelling in buses, they should be careful to keep valuables, jewellery and bags containing money in their hands and refuse any money or water given to them by others. The DSP congratulated the city inspector Krishna and the staff Srikanth Reddy, Srinivas, Nagaraju and Ravikumar for their cleverness and cracking the case.
