Agronomists should be made who will be proud of the country – Minister KTR
Ministers KTR, Niranjan Reddy and Legislature Pocharam Srinivas Reddy inaugurated the building of the agricultural college being constructed in the suburbs of Tangallapally mandal of Rajannasircilla district as an affiliate of Professor Jayashankar Agricultural University. In the meeting organized on this occasion, Minister KTR said that if the facilities of the modern agricultural college are utilized, agronomists will be produced who will be the pride of the country. With the blessings of CM KCR, there has been unprecedented expansion of agriculture in Rajannasircilla district while coming in the helicopter, from Konda Pochamma Sagar, Mallanna Sagar, upto Ranganayak respectively. He said that Sagar, Annapurna Reservoir and Mid Maneru reservoirs have been found. There is no single reservoir in the union state and lakhs of acres are irrigated under these reservoirs. He said that KCR means I am a farmer’s brother and advised students to become entrepreneurs of Satillite Campus of Acharya Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Agriculture college should be upgraded to PG college.
The state is green with the initiative of the CM
State Planning Commission Vice Chairman Vinod Kumar said that if KCR had not shouldered the Telangana movement in the 20s, would this college exist in the districts?. He said that at the American level, research is being done for the development of agriculture in the agricultural college in Telangana. Agriculture will be transformed into an industry.
He said that the students should think about the upcoming problems in agriculture from the first day of their admission in this college. He said that the acreage of Kamat had decreased with the land reforms brought by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
After the advent of Telangana there were revolutionary changes in agriculture.
Vemulawada MLA Ramesh Babu said that there was a revolutionary change in agriculture after the advent of Telangana. No one had expected that a college would come up on this land. He said that this college is a fitting tribute to the immortals. Telangana government is the only government in the history of the world that has provided 60 crore investment assistance in six years. In view of the fact that food security has replaced food processing units and it will contribute to food security. He said that there is a need to conduct more research on food security. He asked all the people to take advantage of the great infrastructure facilities like agriculture college, medical college and super specialty hospital in the small district.
