Chief Minister K.CR wants all the poor to live with dignity and financial security -Telangana

The government under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the leader of the movement, is working with sincerity and dedication to provide the benefits of development and welfare schemes to all communities in Telangana.

Since November 2014, the government has been implementing the Asara pension scheme with the intention to ensure that all the poor live with dignity and financial security. Like no other state in the country, the elderly, disabled, widows, single women, H. I. V.-AIDS, filaria affected persons (Grade-2,3), handloom, stone cutters, beedi workers are supported by giving support pensions. The government of Telangana increased the pensions which used to be  Rs.200 per month at the time of the formation of Telangana. Currently, the Telangana government is giving Rs.3,016 per month to disabled persons and Rs.2,016 per month to others under Asara pensions. No state government in the country is giving such a large amount of pensions to all the poor. Similarly, the Telangana government is directly depositing the pension money in the accounts of the beneficiaries as monthly installments in a completely transparent manner. Also, the government is giving support pensions to 6,906 dialysis victims in the state.

The government has recently reduced the age limit for receiving Asara pensions from 65 years to 57 years. With this, the number of existing Asara pensioners will increase from 35 lakhs 95 thousand 675 to 45 lakhs 80 thousand 746. The state government will spend an additional Rs.3,000 per year on the new pensions. Among them, 65 years of age and other beneficiaries are 3 lakh 87 thousand 864. Also, by reducing the age limit to 57 years, another 5 lakh 97 thousand 207 people will get benefit. The state government is also significantly increasing the allocation of funds according to the number of beneficiaries. The state government is going to spend Rs. 12 thousand 60 crore 23 lakhs per year for supporting pensions at the rate of Rs. 975 crores 75 lakhs per month.

Rajanna Sircilla district is receiving monthly pensions through Asara scheme like never before. 28,504 old-age pensions, 8,163 disability pensions, 18,632 widow pensions, 3288 weavers’ pensions, 1506 Gita workers’ pensions were given in Rajanna Sircilla district in the financial year 2014-15. Then the total pensions are 60 thousand 93 people who will be payed 6 crore 52 lakh 58 thousand 500 every month. After the formation of Telangana state, CM KCR increased the amount of pension significantly to support the unfortunate.

22,975 old-age pensions, 9,695 disability pensions, 21,536 widow pensions, 3541 weavers’ pensions, and 2055 gita workers’ pensions are given in Rajanna Sircilla district in the financial year 2021-22. Apart from them, 1761 single women, 43,159 beedi workers and 888 Boda Kalu victims are being given pension. 22 crores 32 lakhs 38 thousand 784 are being paid to 1 thousand 5610 people every month. Recently, the state government has sanctioned pension to 18 thousand 383 people in Rajanna Sircilla district. Saturation of pensions like never before, no government has ever done. Old people, single women, Filaria victims and beedi workers expressed their happiness not only for the grant but also for the substantial increase in the amount of pension.
